Health & Beauty Tips for Mums-To-Be

Hot, Summer Months and Facial Skin Care

by Martha Fitzharris

Dry skin can have problems in both the winter and summer months. This is often caused by cold wind which is notorious for taking away the skin's natural moisture, however, summer months can also lead to irritation due to being overly exposed to different factors such as sun, salt water, and chlorinated water.

Exposure to UV radiation can be irritating because it tends to dry out the skin. Moreover, ocean water contains high levels of salt that can also dehydrate the skin while exposure to pool water can cause irritation and rashes.

In order to avoid these problems you should make a few changes in your summer routine. Remember that treating a dry face is not just about looking good, but also about your bodies overall health. Why would we even think that dry skin had anything to do with your overall health? Quite simple, facial dry skin is more prone to cracking, which means that it increases the probability of bacteria entering your bloodstream and endangering your overall health.

Too Much Sun Can Ruin your Skin

Summer is all about tanning, but sun exposure can lead to major damage. Fair skinned people (who are usually the ones who have dry skin to begin with) can sunburn easily. Sunburns will normally lead to dryness and subsequent peeling.

The skin will begin to lose its protection. To prevent dry skin due to sun exposure, regulate your time in the sun. Wear protective clothing and use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more.

Use a Gentle Soap for Summer

If you have dry skin then harsh soaps are a big no-no. Instead, look for products that are fragrances or alcohol-free. Since dry skin is also sensitive, it is a good idea that you avoid soaps, alcohol, and fragrances because they may cause irritation.

If you are out purchasing a body wash make sure that you find one that contains soothing ingredients such as oatmeal, licorice or Aloe Vera. The facial skin care products that you choose should include a cream cleanser and a creamy moisturizer. If you have really dry skin, try using oil as a cleanser and moisturizer.

Don't Spend all day Underwater

Long, hot showers can lead to really dry skin. Spending too much time in the pool can do the same thing. This is why it is important to take shorter showers with warm water and watch your time in the pool.

Apply a moisturizing lotion as soon as you have washed off the chlorine from the pool or salt from the ocean. If for some reason you forget to bring your own moisturizer, then simply towel off as much as possible. Don't forget that when the excess water on your skin evaporates it also takes with it the moisture from your skin.

Revamp your Shaving Routine Women usually increase the frequency with which they shave during the summer. But, we all know that shaving can lead to irritation. To keep this from happening, it is advisable to use a fresh blade every time you shave.

To keep your skin healthy it is important to follow a regular anti aging skin care routine that contains soothing products. BIOSKINCARE is an excellent facial cleanser and natural skin care product that contains Snail Serum extract. This natural ingredient allows BIOBALM to treat all types of skin safely and effectively.
