Nail Care Advice for Beautiful Nails
Nail care need not be limited to just the basics, especially for women who want to have beautiful nails. Most women would still go to nail salons to have their nails done. But with some of these advanced nail care tips, you won't even have to go to nail salons and spend money just to have beautiful nails.
Since nails are growing tissues, it has to get its materials from the things that you put into your body. This is why having bad eating habits and vices such as smoking will contribute to having weak and brittle nails. But with the correct diet and avoidance of vices, you can have beautiful and glowing nails.
One product that a lot of women use on their nails is nail polish. Aside from having protective effects, they also enhance to looks of nails, and this is why a lot of women enjoy applying these. They often use different colors to match their nails with their outfits. Unfortunately, constant exposure to nail polish can also lead to weakening of nails due to their chemical content. It is wise to let the nails breathe from time to time so that it is not in constant contact with the chemicals present in nail polishes.
In line with the use of nail polish, nail polish removers are also abused by some women. Those who constantly want to have a new color on their nails will always use removers so that they may apply a new color on their nails. The bad thing about these removers, especially acetone based ones, is that they can cause drying of the nails. Dry nails are easily prone to breaking thus it might be a good idea to limit the use of removers to once a week.
In line with nail polish removers, you should also avoid exposing your hands and nails to harsh chemicals such as bleach. This can damage your nails similar to nail polish removers. Aside from chemical damage, you should also avoid mechanical damage to the nails by wearing gloves whenever you will need to use your hands during potentially harmful situations.
Moisturizing nails through the use of hand lotion may also be a good idea. After washing hands or exposing them to drying agents, the use of hand lotion will instantly hydrate your nails preventing them from drying out easily. An added bonus is that hands also stay soft and nice to touch.
If you have naturally weak nails, the best solution in these situations is by eating the right types of food to help nails grow stronger. Food rich in proteins, calcium and zinc are good supplements for the better growth of nails. Another thing that you can try is by dipping the nails in warm olive oil for 20-30 minutes a couple of times a week.
With all of these nail care tips, you should have beautiful and healthy nails that you can be proud of even without applying any nail polish. You won't have to settle for nails that are mediocre, and you won't even have to rely on nail salons just to have those beautiful nails that you want.
