It is really a nightmare when we are having a bad hair day but probably what is worse that that is getting bald or having to lose our crowning glory that even if we do all the things that is necessary to prevent it, it seems like a losing battle and inevitable. So for those of the people who are having a dilemma about losing their hair or who are already on the verge of being bald.

To the dismay of many, many causes of hair loss cannot be halted or changed. No matter how much you groom and pamper your hair, there is always the chance of losing it or even going bald. Here is a list of hair loss causes that have been supported and researched by medical scientists.

According to studies, one of the most common causes of hair loss is hormones because they are known to affect the stimulation of hair growth which only means that not only men are affected by it but also women. Though they say that hair loss in men have patterns and runs specifically, but in women, hair thinning or hair loss does not follow a pattern that is specific.

Also, one of the major causes of hair loss especially in women is child birth and they are experiencing it after they have delivered their baby. But the beautiful thing about this is that hair loss right after weeks or months of pregnancy is only temporary because it only occurs because of the diverse changes that a mother undergoes through during this period.

Taking birth control pills is considered to be one of the most common causes of hair loss for women that have genetic predisposition to Androgenic Alopecia. If you know that you have someone in your family that are balding and loosing hair, you should consult your doctor before beginning to take birth control pills. The bright side of this is that the condition is usually only temporary, and it could stop after one to six months. In some cases; however, women were no longer able to regrow the hair that was lost during the months this condition existed.

Other causes of hair loss, besides the ones already mentioned, include insufficient nutrients. Your diet is important because the different vitamins and minerals you take in, like iron, are important for promoting healthy hair growth. There are also diseases and illnesses that can cause hair loss. A well known example of this is the hair loss that occurs when undergoing treatments for cancer and other medications for chronic diseases.
