PS I love you! Hardly the most romantic way to write a love letter to your special person. But it is probably as far as some people go!

Have you seen the romantic comedy movie with Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank yet? The film, PS I Love You, shows a number of different ways romantic love letters can be used to show love. The very first way did not even feature a letter but was sent using a tape recorder and a special cake to celebrate her birthday.

Yet if we look back at history we see large numbers of people who have gone out of their way to do just that. Many of the love letters I publish on my LoveLettersCentral.com website would have been written prior to word-processing some even before the fountain pen and writing was done by dipping a sharpened birds feather into a pot of ink. A long and laborious method of writing a lengthy love letter but they wanted to show their love.

Are you doing something spectacular to show your loved one that you want them? Or is writing that simple phrase PS I Love You as an afterthought at the end of a letter or love note enough for you? Would you like to know how to make the most of your romantic thoughts to really impress your loved one and know they will treasure it?

We currently publish over 125 love letters some short, some long, in some cases we only publish extracts if the letters go on for several pages dealing with every day life issues. Each one of them could be taken by you and used in a number of different ways.

For example one visitor to the website took one short letter splitting it into 12 parts and rewrote them to reflect her husband's appearance e.g. his height, the shade and style of his hair, his smile etc. Each part was then placed in consecutively dated envelopes, one for each day of his forthcoming business trip and sealed with a bright red lipstick kiss. His instructions were to look through them each morning and open the appropriately dated one. Over the ten days he would have been building a romantic loving letter from his wife telling him how much she thought of him building up to the final day when he would be returning home to her.

What would he have been thinking about his wife who went out of her way to say she loved him in that series of very short love letters?

I propose we have a competition to get your head and heart working together. What is the most romantic unusual way you can use a love letter from yourself to someone else (or that someone sent to you). Remember you can send love letters in so many different ways, a mini disk, an MP3 file with you speaking your favourite love song or write it in the snow.
